Myanmar Now: ‘Suu Kyi takes the stand in court for the first time since her arrest’
On 26 October, Myanmar Now reported that Myanmar's ousted State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi took the stand at a court in Naypyitaw to deny a charge of incitement (Section 505b of the Penal Code) made by the junta.

On 22 October, the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Myanmar, Tom Andrews addressed UN General Assembly and called on the Member States to stand with and for the people of Myanmar by denying the junta what it needs to keep holding them hostage: money, weapons, and legitimacy.

UNHCR deplores violent attack in Rohingya refugee camp
On 22 October, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) released a statement deploring the latest violent attack in the Rohingya refugee camps in Bangladesh. The incident resulted in the death of at least seven refugees and an unspecified number of injured, including children. The UNHCR urged the Bangladesh authorities to take immediate measures to improve the security in the refugee camps.
