OHCHA publishes Myanmar’s November Snapshot
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OHCHA) published its Myanmar flash update and snapshot for November. According to it, ‘the humanitarian, human rights and security situation in Chin State, as well as in neighbouring Magway and Sagaing regions, is deteriorating with intensified armed clashes reported between the MAF and local PDFs’.

UN Special Rapporteur on Myanmar calls for UNSC Action
On 2 November, Tom Andrews, the UN Special Rapporteur Tom Andrews called for UN Security Council action in the light of the rising mass atrocities being committed by the Myanmar military in Chin State. He reiterated his call to ‘cut illegal junta’s access to revenue and weapons’ on 10 November.

Reuters: ‘U.S. concerned over Myanmar army operations in Chin state, town ablaze’
On 1 November, Reuters reported that the United States has expressed concern about increased military operations in parts of Myanmar, including Chin state, where it said more than 100 homes and churches had been destroyed in the offensive.

UN: ‘Myanmar: Child Rights Violations Must Stop Now’
On 29 October, the UN Special Envoy on Myanmar, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict, and the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Violence against Children, Dr. Najat Maalla M’jid called on all parties in Myanmar to immediately stop all child rights violations and to exercise utmost restraint to protect children and to respect their responsibilities under international law.

AP: ‘Myanmar military uses systematic torture across country’
On 28 October, the Associated Press based on multiple interviews reported that the Myanmar military since its takeover of the government in February has been torturing detainees across the country methodically and systemically.
