On 11 December 2020, the Ukrainian Legal Advisory Group in partnership with the International Renaissance Foundation convened an expert panel to discuss international justice for Ukraine in light of the ICC Prosecutor’s decision to close preliminary examinations in the Ukraine situation. Dr. Priya Pillai, Head of AJC’s Secretariat, contributed as a speaker.
The discussions addressed challenges faced by Ukrainian authorities on the investigative and judicial levels, challenges faced by other States in investigating and prosecuting grave crimes, and the rile and nexus between domestic investigations and prosecutions and those by the International Criminal Court.
